Alix Gerber will deliver a lecture titled Listening & Framing: Designing Civic Experiences as part of the Sam Fox School Public Lecture Series. As the Louis D. Beaumont Visiting Assistant Professor for spring 2017, Gerber is teaching Research Methods in Human-Centered Design and Radical Design.
She has worked as a user-centered researcher at IA Collaborative in Chicago, in addition to projects with Ziba, the Nike Foundation, IDEO, and MSK Cancer Center. Throughout, she has used in-context, observational research to understand users' needs and frame design briefs for business strategies, digital experiences, and service offerings. Gerber recently earned an MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons in New York, where she explored speculative design, public services, and how design can impact government and policy.
